Dear Soho Crime Fans,

This May, Soho Press is releasing paperback editions of Silesian Station by David Downing (the sequel to 2007's Zoo Station) and A Deadly Paradise by Grace Brophy. When Silesian Station was published last year, Crimespree Magazine had this to say about it: "Twists and turns aplenty make this espionage novel a superb read full of tension and suspense. It's sad, melancholy and hopeful all at the same time. An amazing piece of fiction which I hope is part of a much larger series." And in the Denver Post, Grace Brophy's Commissario Alessandro Cenni series (along with 2007's The Last Enemy) was compared to those of Donna Leon, Magdalen Nabb, and David Hewson. Finally, in Where Petals Fall, a new Soho Constable title from Shirley Wells, we find that forensic psychologist Jill Kennedy is back on the case when a woman's body is found in a quarry wrapped in a shroud. Kirkus Reviews praised Wells previous Jill Kennedy novel, A Darker Side, for its "deft combination of police procedural and psychological thriller."

And for anyone attending the BEA festivities in New York City next week, don't forget about the Soho Press Author Crime Party Extravaganza at Partners & Crime Bookstore (44 Greenwich Ave.) The festivities will kick off at Wednesday, May 27th, at 7PM with wine and cheese. Cara Black, Garry Disher, Henry Chang, Eliot Pattison, James Benn, and Mick Herron will all be in attendance. And throughout the weekend, stop by our booth, #4505, at the Jacob Javits Center. Saturday is our big book signing day. In our booth, Helen Benedict will be signing galleys of her new book The Edge of Eden at 10 AM, and Iain Levison will be signing his new one, How to Rob an Armored Car, at 2 PM. In the autographing area, you'll find Cara, Garry, Henry, Eliot, James and Mick all signing their newest books between 3:00-5:00 PM. Come on down!

Where Petals Fall
Shirley Wells

Where Petals FallForensic Psychologist Kennedy and DCI Trentham experience deja vu when a crime seems to repeat itself.

A woman's body is found in a quarry, wrapped in a shroud. Five years earlier, four women were killed the same way. But the man who Jill Kennedy and Max Trentham thought was guilty is dead--or is he?

Shirley Wells lives in Lancashire, UK. She has published thirteen
novels, including two previous novels in the Kennedy-Trentham
series.

Praise for the Kennedy-Trentham Series:

"Jill and Max's second case is a deft combination of police procedural and psychological thriller."--Kirkus Reviews

"A satisfying cross between a police procedural and a modern, slightly edgy British village mystery, leaving the reader eager for more Max and Jill investigations."--Booklist

"[E]ngaging ... a fine psychological profile police procedural."--Midwest Book Review
